While you may adore your dog with an intense passion, I can confidently say that my love for my furry companion is incomparable. My seventeen-pound Cockapoo Bichon, Sera, has been integral to my life since I was seven. I will never forget the day I received her as a birthday gift after begging my parents for two years to bring a furry companion into our home. The moment they surprised me with a photo of Sera, declaring her my new best friend, was a day I will never forget.
From the first moment I laid eyes on Sera, I knew she was the perfect match for our family. She was the only female pup in her litter and had a distinct, sassy personality that instantly made us fall in love. Despite being the runt and the weakest in her litter, she never let her size hold her back. During mealtime, she pushed her siblings aside with little kicks, making sure she got the first pick on which nipple to feed from. Her determination immediately won me over, and I knew we would become the sassy duo of the Di Martino household.
Ever since that day, Sera and I have been inseparable. We have grown up together, and has been a constant source of comfort and joy in my life. Her sassy personality and intense loyalty have cemented her as more than just a pet but a cherished family member.
Sera has been blessed with countless endearing nicknames, including bubba, pumpkin, boobie, and my tiny world. While I can sense her slight annoyance when I swap her names, it's my way of expressing my love for her. Sera's presence has been the greatest blessing for my family. She has been a joyful presence in our lives, offering unwavering companionship through thick and thin.
While I have an immeasurable love for Sera, it's apparent that my mother has a special place in her heart. My family often jokes about Sera being my mother's shadow, as she follows her every move and is never more than a paw's reach away. Sera takes advantage of any opportunity to snuggle, eat, or sleep alongside my mother, and I'll admit, it can spark bouts of jealousy within me. Nonetheless, witnessing the bond between Sera and my mother is heartwarming, and I know that she brings comfort to my family.
My pumpkin has been a constant source of love, comfort, and companionship for a decade and a half. In the time that Sera has been a part of our family, she has exemplified why dogs have earned the title of man's best friend.
There's no denying that Sera has exceeded all expectations when it comes to being the best companion. Her loyalty, playful spirit, and constant affection have made her an integral part of our family. Over the years, she has brought us immeasurable joy and comfort, making each day better. It's hard to imagine life without her by my side, and I am forever grateful for every moment I can spend with my best friend.
I have a 7 year old Maltipoo (maltese poodle) who brings my family so much joy. I relate with your jealousy for you mom really hard, as I'd say I'm probably Louis's least favorite family member. But that doesn't matter. They're in our lives for a couple decades and we're in theirs forever, so unconditional love from start to finish is mandatory. I hope she's close by to USC so you're never too far from her company.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, Sera is SOOO cute! My yorkie back home has been with me for 12 years too and it's definitely a different bond when you get to grow up alongside your doggie companion. I love that you call her sassy, would love to hear some stories about her sassiness!
ReplyDeleteSera is so adorable. I always dreamed of a Christmas or birthday morning waking up to a new puppy under the tree..but that day never came. My parents aren't dog people which made me sad as a kid but now that I am months away from graduation, I will be able to get myself a little furry friend!
ReplyDeleteYour dog is so cute! I have a seven-year-old miniature schnauzer named Stella that I love so much and is my emotional support. She sleeps in my bed and is practically the baby in our family. I still remember the day I got her, and I think about her all the time.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has grown up with two small dogs, I can relate to your post. Dogs definitely become a real member of the family. I hope she continues living happy and healthy!
